We have an amazing troop of boys that meets on Sunday evenings at 6:15pm, contact us for meeting info. Our monthly outings including hiking, overnight camping, canoe trips, indoor rock climbing, and historical trips like the Freedom Trail, Isaac Davis Trail, and a tour of Gettysburg. We are helping shape the scouts into wonderful people. Whether your scout is looking to earn Eagle or is content with scouts as a social event, we are able to accept and empower any scout to be their best.
The Troop aims to exemplify the Scouting ideal of a “Scout-led troop”. A well-run Troop is run for and by the Scouts and their families who belong to it. Our adult leaders are trained and committed to the aims of scouting which provide a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for scouts.
Goals of the Troop:
- Foster camaraderie and help Scouts understand the value of teamwork.
- Provide opportunities to develop leadership skills, learn responsibility and accountability for individual and group efforts.
- Develop understanding of community, nation and world and their role in being a part of each one.
- Challenge Scouts physically and through mastery of scoutcraft to enhance self-confidence.
Troop Structure:
The Troop is run by the Scout Leaders. With the guidance of the Scoutmaster and the Assistant Scoutmasters the Scouts plan the program, conduct Troop meetings, and provide leadership among their peers. The Troop's key leader is the Senior Patrol Leader (top youth leader in the troop). He leads the Patrol Leaders' Council and, in consultation with the Scoutmaster, appoint other youth leaders and assigns specific responsibilities as needed. The year's program and outings are chosen by the Scouts.
